With the help of DSES I managed to get past the EULA then this problem started to come which is when I try to join online in super smash for the 3ds the screen keeps loading: “communicating with the server…” for hours, kind of soft locking me unless I turn off my 3ds, and there are no errors that appear, it just keeps loading.

Smash 3DS and Wii U were only just made publicly available, instabilities may occur.
Hmm. The server itself is functional, this sounds like a bigger issue because of the EULA or something. Let me discuss with people smarter than me when it comes to the 3DS.
Sorry, I’m not really good at 3ds stuff but my best educated guess is that your NAT type is incompatible I honestly don’t know but that is my best educated dumb guess. But keep in mind that Smash had just got released to the public and I’ve played them myself on Wii U it’s a little bit unstable.
That wouldn’t affect connecting to the server - that would only affect P2P connections for playing. But server connection itself is unrelated to NAT.
I checked the EU version which matches my console and it still didn’t work, is it possible if you can inform the devs about this? Because many people keep telling me it has to do with the servers just releasing but I don’t think so.
I assume, or I believe rather, that the developers are aware of this, as it is not an exactly uncommon issue.
Well, it kind of does. These servers were only released this week, and as Pretendo is a work in progress, there will be some issues, especially on newly-released servers.
The only other possible reasoning is that there is an issue with your 3DS, which could simply be the case. Your 3DS may be sending “dry” tokens or could just not be verified, hence a failed authentication.
No, this is not a server issue. This is a user-specific issue in some way.

Why isn’t Smash Bros for the 3DS working both in general and with friends? I tried joining friends who are online rooms, and nothing happens, it doesn’t work, and then I made my own room and no one joins and they’re probably not able to join. I’m on Pretendo. I also tried joining just online in general, and while I figured that wouldn’t work, I just want to make sure.

Are you getting any error codes for those? This is the first time I’m hearing of issues with Friend Rooms.
I don’t get any error code. It’s just when I go to click on one of my friends rooms who is online from pretendo I click on it but nothing happens, it doesn’t go to the room. The room doesn’t load. It just makes like some kind of sound and that’s it.
Does it say “online” or does it actually show them in a room?
I’m double-checking again now. Last night it showed three people online in Smash Bros when I was in the game looking at the With Friends option online, after connecting online with my PNID.
No one is online now so I can’t check what it says now, but last night it said that there were three people online in Smash Bros in the With Friends section in the online section beneath join a friend’s room.
It says “Online” for people who have the game open (sometimes just on their 3DS) even if not actually in an online room.
