So, basically, I went to Nintendo Network to update Luma3DS, but then after I updated it, this happened after my LED went blue!
On top of that, Swapnote/Nintendo Letter Box randomly said that the service was discontinued, and now the spotpass options there are grayed-out.
Maybe Pretendo is working on the servers or something? Or maybe it’s just because you updated…
I wasn’t even on Pretendo, i was literally on Nintendo Network, and i randomly received content that Nintendo added a long time ago, I think nintendo accidentally re-enabled their SpotPass servers and i’m the first person to find out
This has happened to me too, I’m pretty sure. It’s probably just some glitch or something.
i wonder if it’s possible to send notes to people in swapdoodle on Nintendo’s servers using this glitch. if so, nintendo just accidentally brought back a dead online service and they did not even realise it.

Yes, I was, that’s why I got the SpotPass content from Nintendo
Maybe it doesn’t use Nintendo’s servers, maybe they have their own servers?
I dont think so, as there’s a lot of signs it’s the original servers and not any custom ones
Oh yeah this im not a expert but in some limited cases i have Received spotpass notifs such as swapdoodle And you still can connect to the internet even if their is no servers anymore i think it is a bug or smth
Also, lately some weird stuff has been going on with the insides of the 3DS and Wii U servers, including the eShop going completely down a while ago.
Im pretty sure Somehow some spotpass notifs are made Locally
Sounds about accurate. Because there’s such a slim chance that Nintendo would forget to shut down one of their servers.
And there is quite little a homebrew app that literally gives you notifications and it works I guess you could say it’s different from a game for example giving you notifications but clearly they can make it locally I think it’s called notify mii or smth for the 3ds Should be on universal updater
I know everything related to SpotPass was down before i started using Pretendo (Which i started using almost exactly a year ago) but now it seems like they made a mistake recently and re-enabled the SpotPass servers for the 3DS
I have NotifyMii but its not the reason why i got this notification, because alongside two notifications, i got special content in two apps
Ok well that seems slim but mayhe possible Do you know if all spotpass functionality is currently working

They still have some basic SpotPass servers up, and some individual games have SpotPass servers still up (Like Puzzle & Dragons Z, surprisingly)
