I saw the video, and to think that a vulnerability in the buffer can execute commands remotely, I just hope the patch is available as soon as possible for everyone.

Yes, when it’s ready the full release of Nimbus 2.0, ACNL patch, and other included things will be on Universal Updater. 
Hey lads and ladettes, I have a question:
Since Nimbus 2.0 is available for all to download and takes a bit of setting up anyway, is it possible to extend the testing now to non-donators? I’m just thinking that even if you don’t release the patch fully yet, it’ll still be cool if those who have already installed it can utilise it.

No, it’s still considered “Pre-Release”.
“Testing” is inherently for testers.
When it’s no longer Pre-release, ACNL will go public.
Is it possible to give a rough estimate of when it will go public? Sorry if this has been asked a million times already.

For future reference, Pretendo does not give ETAs for anything, and it makes sense because it depends on a lot of factors. It depends on how much interest there is in working on it, availability to do so (due to life circumstances), the popularity of the game/project, and what server it uses.
In addition, it’s actually better not to give ETAs, because the last thing we would want is a bunch of users saying “You promised it would be ready by this time!!!” when the time comes and the project is still not ready. That would REALLY clog up the threads. It would be quite overwhelming.

well if i donate the 20$ can i participate in the online and dream suite ? also will pretendo bring these in 2.0 ? if i donated how do i get server access ?
Dream Suite is not supported. Additionally I would highly recommend not donating just to access ACNL.
i know it wasn’t yet supported before was wondering if it will be available together when they put the servers up after fixing the exploit.
also what is your reasoning if i can ask that you didnt suggest donate because of new leaf ? plus im also donating to help the people keep the service
I doubt it’ll be available but I can’t provide a certain answer.
We generally don’t suggest donating if you’re just doing it to access a specific game in testing, since everything will eventually be public and games can leave testing at any time
i am aware of that thank you. though thing is we dont know when it will be back up and its been down since mid july. if it comes back up before 2026 i will be pleasently surprised

First, the RCE exploit needed to be researched and patched.
The server was down entirely for everyone until the patch was developed. That took a good while on its own.
Now, it’s Tester only while also simulataneously testing Nimbus 2.0 and a required plugin for the RCE patch.
The reason things are taking a while, as Jon explained above, is that our lead 3DS dev recently started university and, understandably, doesn’t have a lot of free time to dedicate to Pretendo.
They are still working on it.
But when Nimbus 2.0 is considered stable and is no longer Pre-Release, that’s when ACNL will go back to being public.
