I don’t think this would be a good idea, when they were up hackers were already a problem, but since everyone who uses this has to have some hacking knowledge, so it’ll probably be an even bigger problem. Atleast enough to install Vapecord and make an island that can corrupt your save file.
I believe they would be implemented? Pretendo wants to support almost every Wii U/3DS title as well as they can.
It could be worse to be fair. If you play ACWW online with anyone on Wiimmfi and invite them into your town, they can theoretically destroy your town due to the seeding system in that game.
Pretendo already has some features that could cause unintended side effects anyways.
For example, the StreetPass Relay system is vulnerable to exploits due to the quality of the StreetPass parsers and that’s why it’s friends only: see StreetPass Relay FAQ.
Also, not sure if it was changed but Pretendo was allowing people to go online with older versions of games (so like you could go online with Mario Kart 7 1.1 and potentially put yourself at risk of being exploited through ENLBufferPwn) if I recall correctly.
Then is there a way to put hack-proof filters and guards for online play within the Pretendo servers to prevent hackers from affecting your save data through the Dream Towns?
i thought welcome amiibo solved that problem by changing the way the map system works?
