Probably a widely known fact (or not) is that the Wii Us processor was not based solely ontop of the wii, but was more so based upon a powerpc g3 similar to the older macintoshes I used to use in schools (the colored ones, the “Yum” ad, etc) It is essentially a ppc g3 750ce with added instructions but slightly downclocked.
As a side note, since it is a g3, and doesnt create a lot of heat, people on forums have found ways to ‘de-lid’ it like you would a regular desktop ihs, meaning better and faster heat throughput.
