Wii Street U - Continuing dwyazzo90's work

As you might know, dwyazzo90 submitted a Wii Street U revival project but left it because of technical problems. It was a childhood thing and so I knew what to do.

I’ve reached out to dwyazzo90 and got the source code for Wii Street U’s revival. Much of the credit is his so don’t credit me that much please go and stare at this work for 10 minutes he makes geniunely impressive stuff.

I’ll post updates here sometimes but you can also check the GameBanana page I’ve made. See ya when the thing is done!

This is really great. I never got to experience Wii Street U. If you do know, how will this be released? E.g. plugin, homebrew app, patcher?

Thanks!

Probably as a new version (The whole app) as I don’t know how to make a patcher + the app has been dead for years so I think it’s fine

Thanks, I suppose it would overall be practical to create a new version.

What the hell is a Wii street U? (Sorry if I made you feel old, it’s just that I didn’t grow up too much with the Wii u)

nostalgia inbound. Anyways, it was a software that was powered by Google Maps for the Wii U that allowed you to navigate the world and even use the Wii Balance Board to walk around places virtually. I remember using it when I was younger and it was extremely cool, but I didn’t ever get to “use it” properly.

Wii Street U - NintendoWiki.

The video and wiki explain it properly.
