Why does it take so long to automaticly delete a topic?

Shouldn’t the seven day time limit be reduced? Otherwise, question is self-explanatory with the title.

When all of the posts in one topic are merged into another topic, Discourse automatically locks the old topic and schedules it for deletion in 7 days. I personally think this is a pretty reasonable time period: in the short term, it allows people who might have been following the old topic to see that it has been merged into another topic and follow that one instead. But in the long term, that old topic doesn’t contain any important information and can be safely deleted to reduce clutter.

(Slightly off-topic, but this forum is actually the first time I’ve used Discourse and I’ve been really impressed by how powerful the topic and post management tools are.)
