Hello. I hooked up my Wii U last night for the first time in a few years, and installed Aroma and Inkay. After which I went to try playing some games. Mario Kart 8 & Splatoon (the only online games I have) give me error 105-4069 when I attempt to launch them, saying there was an “update” available. Attempting to launch Miiverse also results in a console crash. Offline games, such as NES Remix, don’t give me this error, however.
I have attempted looking up what this error means, and on the error code search up it seems to be unknown. Does anyone know why this error is happening? My system menu was at 5.5.6 before installing aroma, and I had updated my games the last time I played them, so I don’t know whats going on.
Thank you for your time.
Just to double check, Mario Kart 8 is on version 4.2.0 and Splatoon is on 2.12.1 right?
So I just turned on my console again, and upon launching Mario kart 8 & Splatoon, it said “Update Complete”. I guess it was able to download whatever update it had while in sleep mode? But Mario Kart says “4.2” on the title screen now, and Splatoon says 2.12.1 now as well. I went online on Mario Kart 8, and confirmed that it worked, so I guess the games fixed themselves.
The Wara Wara plaza seems to work now too (before it was just giving me the default built in plaza with the built in apps) as it now shows Juxt posts, but launching Miiverse itself still seems to crash my Wii U.
I’m not sure if this’ll do anything but it might be worth temporarily allowing updates and switching to Nintendo Network and trying to perform a system update? It might resolve the issue, very weird
I did a system update on Nintendo Network and the Miiverse crash still occurs. Just for the sake of troubleshooting, I also attempted to launch Miiverse on the Nintendo Network just to see if it would crash as well, or if it would give me an error, and it also crashed.
Did I mess up modding my Wii U by chance?
This might not be a Pretendo issue, I don’t think you’ve messed anything up but I think you might be better off getting support from Nintendo Homebrew at this point
where would be a good place to ask?
I see you’re getting help now
Hopefully this is able to be resolved, sorry that I can’t really do more to help here

you’re fine! I really appreciate your fast and helpful advice, you helped me troubleshoot more than I could have on my own, as well as point me in the right direction. Thank you so much!
Once I find a solution, I’ll be sure to post what helped me back here in case anyone else runs into this issue in the future as well
