I am setting up a Wii U for my nieces and nephews at my mothers house for the cold winter months when they are there indoors. I want my kin to have a great experience from retro to family friendly gaming without any hiccups. Should I setup multiple profiles or just have them use a general profile. There are 40 kids, half of them aren’t old enough to understand the controls. Ages range from 1 - 15. Any ideas on the matter would help, advice is more then welcome!

I think it would be worth setting up 2 or 3 profiles on the Wii U.
Ideally one for you/your mother and one for everyone else. The Wii U supports a maximum of 8 profiles iirc.
The one that you/your mother access should be password protected, and I think the one everyone else accesses should have some level of parental controls.

A bit like Animal Crossing: New Horizons letting you have 8 human players on one island or allowing 8 people to come and visit you on your own island!
