Hi, I am trying to connect to a proxy connection while connected to Pretendo (as the Nintendo service connection says it’s no longer available) in MH4U after hitting DLC in order to download custom event quests I intended to have fun with solo or with a friend, like a giant Rajang… I am met with error code 090-2411 after the final check for Connect to the Internet. The error text says it’s a network related matter, but all other connections work fine.
Maybe i missunderstood this post but pretendo is not distrubuting any dlc currently
It wouldn’t be Pretendo distributing the DLC – while connected to Pretendo, if I have my Primary DNS set to a well known hosted private server for MH4U DLC content 34.075.107.068 I can connect and download all available content which can now only happen with Pretendo and not under Nintendo network.
There’s a tool to create custom quests and to download them you launch a proxy and connect to it just with IP and port in your 3ds Connections settings then Proxy Settings – when used on the Nintendo network I get no error, instead, a message that it’s discontinued. If doing this method under Pretendo, I am instead getting error 090-2411 with text that there’s a network error. I would think I should be able to connect to this proxy server I’m hosting no different than me grabbing the DLC through that other server.
I am wondering if there’s an issue with Proxy settings… or maybe it’s an anti cheating/modding thing now that I think about it.
Hi the old tools used to create custom quests and host them through a proxy will no longer work as the download server is programmed differently than Capcom’s (as far as we know). You can local host the server and replace the .mib quest files manually but it’s not a very easy setup.
