Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I’m not sure if you can upload custom images from Miiverse without doing something like linking the URL to the image or something weird like that. Is it possible to do so, or am I just being dumb?
There are ways to post custom images, but it’s not allowed. Posts with custom images get removed by moderators.

Oh, well, that’s stupid.
Its not stupid. If you modify a image. Its no longer a screenshot. If you have a game open. Press home, than the mii verse icon when you create a post tap the screenshot button, tap the screenshot, an post it.
Theres really no reason to post a edit or what could be taken as a fake screenshot on pretendo or miiverse.
Just make sure your in the aroma cfw and not tiramisu. Otherwise, the screenshot plugin may not work.

Well with miiverse all art has to be hand drawn or screen captured from the game. Itd probbly help if you had screenshots of the posts. That way people can confirm if there fake or real.
Well, yes. I see. Then nobody’d be able to trick others with fake images.
If people wanted to. We could check image meta data to ensure the images were posted from wiiu or 3ds systems. If a file was tampered with. Opening the image with a hex editor would show us what programs were used.
So, fake images would get caught pretty easilly.
I don’t believe that the Wii U adds any special metadata to the image, and even if it did, people could add fake metadata to bypass such a filter. There’s really no automatic way to do this, so that’s why there are human moderators in the loop.

I forget the reasoning behind why custom images aren’t allowed (Matthew will know the reason) but we may allow them eventually.

The reason I heard is simply that the main purpose of Miiverse/Juxt is to discuss Nintendo games. Posting custom images doesn’t really match up with the purpose.
However, as @GamersInternatio noted, this is currently being reconsidered.
