Fun fact: my first general Pokemon game was Pokemon Go, in 2016, and my first PROPER Pokemon game was Pokemon X, in 2018 - not counting my brother letting me use his finished copy of Pokemon Sun about a year earlier.
I played Emerald on a fake game card years ago. (honestly no clue if i still have it) it barely worked since Saving never worked, My ACTUAL first Pokemon game was actually Pokemon Y and then ORAS. (Alpha Sapphire specifically)

How’d you even get a fake game card in the first place? Was there still official data on it, or was the game itself a bit weird?
My first Pokémon game was Pokémon Pokopia, which I’m really enjoying. I haven’t played any proper Pokémon games yet, but I’ll try Pokémon Legends Z-A sometime.
My first Pokemon game was GO back around 2016/17, but my first in the mainline series was Pokemon Shield. And, hot take… I think it’s a really good game! (But I might be biased. I still think it’s fun, though!) I also have a physical copy of Blue (that was really overpriced) as well as Violet and Legends: Arceus. My favorite Pokemon? Scorbunny/Cinderace!

They’re very cool. In fact, I like Inteleon especially, and when I was at my first high school (2019-2022), I even got it painted on a mural outside our classroom!

That’s good to hear that it’s fun! I’ve heard mixed things about the game, positive and negative.
I think I’ll try Scarlet/Violet and Legends Arceus sometime. Are there any other good Pokémon games that I should try?
Maybe Sword/Shield. I know that one’s mostly been received as the worst, but I think it’s just some sort of comparison bias. Scarlet/Violet is still better, though. From my experience, anyway.
I think all 3 games (Sword and Shield, Scarlet and Violet, Legends Arceus) are very good, though I can’t really say that too much for Paldea and Hisui because I haven’t finished them, and I’ve only finished the Isle Of Armor (part 1 of the Galar DLC) but not the Crown Tundra (part 2 of the Galar DLC).
Is the Mega Dimension DLC for Legends Z-A any good?
I don’t know. It looks pretty good, based on what I’ve seen. Mega Lucario Z and Mega Garchomp Z.

Think I played Red after I upgraded to a Gameboy Color from original Gameboy. Later played Blue and I think the next one I actually played much was Y. Now I’ve got Scarlet and Fire Red in post game. Shining Pearl is somewhere in the middle with Arceus barely started and ZA near the end.
The DS and 3ds Pokemons I only started recently other then that bit of Y. No idea why I never really played any of them other then Red at the time. Though I guess its partially to do with not having an Advance SP until EOL and never having a 3ds at all until a few years ago.
