Off-topic category

Likely questionable Topic, but I am aware that “PizzaPizza72” created a post for discussing “Off-Topic” comments. However, woulden’t it be easier to create an entire “Off-Topic” category" for those kinds of posts?

A couple of reasons I can think of:

  • Adding a new category would require an admin to agree with the change.
  • This forum is mainly intended for Pretendo-related discussion, so I’m not sure that we really want to encourage more off-topic threads.
  • It’s just simpler to have only one thread for off-topic stuff.

Most likely a trust level thing.

Nah, it’s not a trust level thing. I’m assuming it was taken from a reaction on Juxtaposition.

Looks like regulars lost the ability to edit posts? I’ve lost the edit button so that’s some new change.

Editing posts? That should not be happening? Can you make a new post in Forum Meta and I’ll get jvs to investigate

I’ve also lost the ability to edit post titles? (It’s not the end of the world, it doesn’t really matter for me)

Ah, are you referring to editing other people’s post titles etc? We disabled that

A category now exists and is available to forum users with Trust Level 1 or higher. We’re marking this as resolved. Cheers!
