Was sold a New 2DS which had its serial number completely wiped from the console, which as far as I’m aware means I can’t use Pretendo at all.
Is there any way I can still use Pretendo or fix this?
How has your serial number been completely wiped? What happens when you try and use Pretendo?
I’m not entirely sure whether it’ll work but maybe someone can point you in the right direction to fix it.

it gives me a couple different errors that I’ll have to get but as for it being wiped it simply just doesn’t have one, nothing on the console itself either
Trying to see it through 3dsident simply shows nothing

That’s not good at all. Try installing Pretendo and tell the error code on friend list please.
Did you buy it from Aliexpress by any chance? We don’t recommend that site for a 3DS console as they intentionally wipe the serial and do other stuff.

yea i did get it there unfortunately, didn’t know beforehand. The console is actually pretty alright otherwise tho
as for the error i get on friends list i get 002-0101
Well that error code indicates an important console unique file has been ruined.
Can you check SYSNAND CTRNAND/rw/sys/SecureInfo_A (or_B or _C) and LocalFriendCodeSeed_A (or _B)

Yeah, that’s not a good sign. That means that there’s an issue with the SecureInfo_A file on your console.
I’m hoping that you might be able to get assistance here, but this might take a while to get sorted out (we’ve had other issues like this lately but hasn’t been easy to sort out).

to reply to both of you i have checked it and it did seem like it was messed up, tried using a serial from a dif console i have bc i think thats a solution but i most likely messed it up bc it didnt launch properly after (dw i did fix it immediately)
i will get all the files now tho, anything specific to check?
Using a serial from another console WILL NOT fix the problem as we have that to prevent abuse.
Ask in Nintendo Homebrew Discord to try to reconstruct your real one

SecureInfo should have something resembling a serial number at the end (2-3 letters and then some numbers)
Neither file should look like this for example (long segments of repeated bytes)

yeaaa both seemingly have that, and the homebrew server seems real busy atm…
It’s your best shot of getting it fixed and the people there are a lot more equipped to handle it.
(I would prefer this to stay on forum as it’s happened a few times now but I can’t realistically expect that)

was able to find the serial using godmode9 and going to SYSNAND TWLN/sys/log/inspect.log, should be able to get it back in the other files from here!
