Nintendo TVii revival project (in development)

Same The project looks very good and The name rose IS better thank The wii u’s Code name project café
I think if It gets enough time and contribuition this project can be one of The biggest projects wii u related just like pretendo!
They can get really popular one of my Friends has a wii u and wanted to play online but he noticed that The online was shutdown and i told him about pretendo and now he plays in pretendo too!
I am sure when The project is usables and public i Will install It on my wii u and try It as soon its supported for Spain.
Id love to donate to The project as well as pretendo and many others but with 16 years my parents wont let me.
Anywho when my parents let me do It i Will as its totaly worth It i am studiyng code and trying to learn about It so i can help out on all of this.

Made a YouTube video (not that good) showcasing quickly the stuff that has been implemented.

Do you think you could broadcast things live?
For example, a Splatoon match or a Wii Sports Club match? Maybe even Pretendo Directs (wink wink)

did you read the original post? i mentioned TVii cant broadcast anything Live, it just works as a TV guide/catalog of programs that helps you, well, find programs, where to watch the, and comment with other people about them

Maybe even Pretendo Directs (wink wink)

They already have their newsletter.

Will it work in Spain?

Yes, but the TV guide feature might need a different API service.

Youll still be able to search, favorite programs, comment and draw over screenshots of these (similar to US TVii)

Would be cool to see this in Europe. Nintendo never made it for Europe or Australia, they cancelled it while it was developing. (I pray Nintendo doesn’t sue you.)

They couldnt lol.

The UI isnt even made by them (at least US) since it was made by a different company (i.TV), and even then, its just a few assets im re-utilizing, since most elements use gradients that the browser just renders (in CSS), and i had to remade some assets (because yknow, TVii was never dumped, unlike other apps like Miiverse or eShop, and the code for this revival was made from scratch lol)

and its not even using the same APIs they used, its using public ones… lol…

i.TV???

Do you mean ITV, the British broadcaster? I think ITV Hub was planned for the Wii U at some point but never happened.

They were an american second screen TV entertainment company (mobile apps, websites)

so if you think about it…

GamePad… second screen…

Starts to make sense why Nintendo had a partnership with them and let them develop the american version of TVii, they wanted to make it an entertaining app, compared to the japanese TVii, which was just a TV guide with barely any other features.

So Nintendo probably wanted to make the app more advanced and ambitious for the US side since they had competition like Xbox and their media center…

Does anyone here know any skeuomorphical Nintendo-ish designer/asset designer? I’m not in the Pretendo server for reasons, but i needed someone that could help me in designing some missing assets, since i dont have the skills for that (i just write the client code, CSS, JS, not good at designing assets)

If anyone here knows anyone, please tell me their discord so i can try contacting them…

It’s probably going to be best asking one of the developers, I don’t really have any contacts with UI (I do some UI myself but I’m definitely not capable)

Adinaton over at the Aroma discord. He’s done most of the (pretty) app icon for plugins, apps bundled with Aroma and some Splash screens too. Pretty active on there, I’d ask him if I we’re you

Tried, seems hes really occupied

damn…

But yeah, i keep working on this project, i just do simpler placeholder assets when i need them

Another image update lol

Working on finishing the setup page while also working on the normal user experience

Popular programs on streaming platforms already work and are listed! I have to implement the program view page and the TVTag (live interaction) UI, which might be difficult but not impossible

Offtopic, but I saw your about page on Youtube, and I saw you say you work on a TVii/Demae revival.

Are you actually going to revive Demae?
