DK Direct just happened. What are everybody’s thoughts on it?
After the 3 on the super Famicom I honestly didn’t care. It is not the actual game, but I am not a fan of the 3d n64 version and then the zoom way far out versions like in the Wii. Same with Mario Wii and after that. Why does the sprite have to be so small?

I may try it as it is again a 3d game but it looks more polished than the n64 game.
It is literally the new Mario Odyssey in my opinion. It just looks amazing. I really love the underground aspect to the game.
Overall, I am dry on opinions, though so far it looks like the new top game of 2025.
The music is a banger. I really hope one of my friends gets a switch two so I can play with my switch one. That is a feature I am really happy to see.
The direct is over. Them ending it with TWO HD2D Square Enix games is just diabolical lol.

Customisable Islands?!
I’m not sure yet whether that’s good yet, especially with the ability to “force” the miis to socialise.
I feel like a good part of the charm of the og Tomodachi Life was exactly that you weren’t in control, and watched the miis live, only nudging them slightly in one direction or the other. It feels like the move from AC:NL to AC:NH. Which is not a good thing.
And the switch from a single big apartment building to many small homes gives off US suburbia vibes.
But overall, the game looks great!
