Nimbus 3DS crashes when choosing account type

Hi, I just set up Nimbus on my 3DS with the cia file from Universal Updater. When I open Nimbus from my home screen, it prompts me to choose an account type to load. When I choose either option, the screen turns black for about 15 seconds and then goes back to the home screen, with the cursor still on Nimbus. It doesn’t provide an error code as far as I can tell.
I’m not exactly new to 3DS modding, but I honestly don’t have a ton of knowledge about it, so I will provide info as well as I can.

  • System version: 11.17.0-50U (while going through an “official” guide the other day, I don’t remember which one but probably just updating my homebrew stuff, the guide said it was OK to update the system)
  • Homebrew environment: I’m not sure what info to give. I have CFW, I think I have b9s. Happy to answer specific questions about the environment to the best of my ability.
  • Steps followed: I’ve been following this guide. I downloaded Nimbus from Universal Updater, then confirmed I had the required files listed here (by powering off the console and putting my SD card in the computer, not using FTPD). Then, I enabled the two options on Luma, saved and exited. Then the issue I described happens when I run Nimbus.
  • I created my account on my computer, not my device, mainly because I needed to make this post and obviously can’t do anything in Nimbus yet.
  • Non-essential info: I added -pretendo to the end of my email username (ie username-pretendo@email. com) when I meant to do +pretendo; this is just something I do to keep track of emails. So now I can’t see any emails from Pretendo in my actual inbox and can’t change the email especially because I can’t access my account from my 3DS to attempt to change user info.

Sorry if this issue has been posted about, I couldn’t find another post about it (there was one in the wrong category with no replies that may or may not have been the same issue as mine).

Nimbus restarts your 3ds in the account mode you selected. It is not a crash. It is perfectly normal and you can continue with the setup process from there.

The guide ends there. I just found another forum post saying to log in via system settings though, so I’ll try that. edit: that was the move yea
