I’m just asking, is pretendo gonna support nintendo tvii and does it have anything to do with the question mark that occasionally appears in wara wara plaza?
To my knowledge, Pretendo has been clear with them not being interested on reviving TVii, tho personally i am working on a revival for it and even have a Discord for it, but due to the rules here i cant share the invite.
About the “?” icon on the WaraWara Plaza, that means a community has a invalid TGA or no TGA at all for the icon (data), so that community´s icon is broken and probably needs a new re-encoded one.
That is because the Homebrew Community title id is set to TVii´s one, and posts in the Friends endpoint dont contain icon data, so it defaults to TVii (since the title id is TViis one) and shows the TVii icon, this wont happen on the WaraWara Plaza since the server sets the icon there, so on WaraWara Plaza posts it does appear correctly as Homebrew Community
I already made a new post on that thread and even shared a lot of pictures of it, it also has a Discord server, its just, it doesnt have a name lol!
How does this work exactly? I created a repository a while ago relating to streaming live TV in the UK, although I have abandoned it since Freely launched (haven’t archived though). I think we mostly rely on M3U8 files (not sure what codecs though).
We even have a TV guide configuration too, although I’m fairly sure half of the channels are broken and I’ve not bothered to update it. I wonder whether you can get free live TV (legally) through a GitHub repository like this or IPTV-org/IPTV to use in TVii.
I didnt clear this up, but TVii never streamed anything, and it only worked as a TV guide with social features and live information and sports stats (cool stuff if you ask me).
My version, uses different apis, like for the TV guide (scrapping from Zap2It, and for US/CAN only) and a TV/Movie/Actor catalog (using the TheMovieDB.org API), and also implementing (in a limited way) the interaction features like posting comments about a program, drawing over screenshots of it, participate on polls, and these posts being also crossposted to other social media (BlueSky, Miiverse, and Tumblr implemented), for Sports, there is also live stats and upcoming sports to show (still in development, everything else mentioned works already)
I dont have a public repo for the instance i was working on, just a repo for older and earlier ones that i dont work and support anymore.
So yeah, it only works as a catalog and its useful i guess if you want to talk with people about the same program or just search for information to anything TV related on the GamePad, and im reviving it for the fun of it.
