I want YOU! (for a proper race in MK8)

I need YOU for mario kart! I am trying to get in touch with some of the best racers that use the pretendo service for their mk8 gameplay.
I want a proper challenge, and want to get better at (imho) the best iteration of current mk title(s) besides MKWii.

Im kinda good at MK8D.
Its more likerly memorize shortcuts and know how to use the powerups.
But for practice, its more likely use 150 CC cups or practice Time Trails for memorizing shortcuts.
I also recomend do very much mini turbo foe gaining speed quickier.
Its all i know abt, just wanted to help a little

I can offer my tips and tricks if you use cemu on PC, too. I just want this lil’ thread to be about the absolute best tips and strats for the game. Everything is appreciated here, so to speak.

E.g. I’ve noticed Playstation 5 Dualsense controllers (not the edge/pro version, either) can offer as low as 0.03ms - 0ms according to ds4 windows after using the battle-beaver application to highlight the controller and set it to a higher polling rate. There’s a ton of tutorials on youtube on how to do this effectively. Neat little thing I discovered too, was when raising the polling rate for a ps4(ds4) controller the latency was reduced to just about 0.55 at the lowest, which is impressive on a stock unmodified board.

Even though following guides are for MK8DX (and it’s kinda lazy to just post guides), the game is mostly the same with the original, so the guides are still useful;
If you want something shorter to go over the basics, take a look here:

And if you want something that goes into more detail (though still leaves out a few things since MK8(DX) has just too many of them), this:

I play MK8 on original hardware though, since I like the higher difficulty and (imo) the game feels like it was designed (at least in some places) for one item slot, not two.

Btw, here’s a list of differences between the two:

I also recommend https://shortcat.pro for learning strats on different tracks.

Completely agree with the item system nonsense that was in deluxe, too. I play both hardware and on Cemu.

Do you play Online too or just Local/Time Trials? Though it’s hard to when so few people play, tbf.

Online and the occasional time trial
