How does Streetpass Mii Plaza work with pretendo? (if it even does something)

Im just curious, because i got 4 hits from random people from different countries.
Im not even sure if pretendo changes something with Streetpass Mii Plaza.

Well, I have 7 Miis, all from Australia (I live there), but in varying locations.

Pretendo has a StreetPass Relay server that allows you to StreetPass anyone on your friend list. If those Miis aren’t from your friend list, you probably used another homebrew app like NetPass.
