How do you homebrew a new 3ds away from home?

the title says it all and i cant use my phone

You need a way to be able to put files on your 3DS system’s SD card.

can i use ftp with a phone

The 3DS has to be modded first, and have an internet connection, to use FTP anyway.

There’s an alternative for New 3DS systems called “microSD Management” but it only works with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and even if you get it to work, it can be slow.

That’s for transferring (official) data afaik, from one sd card to another and/or from one 3ds to another.

It lets you modify data on a microSD card with your computer by making your 3DS appear as a network device with its files being synced with the system’s microSD card

“Away from home” is pretty vague. Do you not have access to a computer? If you do, are you in an area where you could get a USB SD/MicroSD card writer? They are pretty inexpensive and likely available at a nearby supermarket. If you are at a hotel, they likely have a computer you can use. If you are at a hotel I also wouldn’t recommend the use of FTPD (once your 3DS is modded) unless you set up a username and password.

im in a hotel and i couldnt find sd cards. im leaving today tho

You can’t HOMEbrew without a HOME!
