i cant access my account on my console because i forgot my password, and i cant change my password because my email just says a bunch of numbers @ invalid

does anyone know what i can do to change my email from my phone? im only able to access my account because it was saved, i dont wanna have to start all over :frowning:

update, ive reset my password, but when i enter it on my wii u its still saying its incorrect, what do i do?

That’s because on the Forum, it shows your account’s PID, not your actual email.

There are technical reasons for this but it’s due to how Pretendo set up the account system for PNIDs to work with the Discourse Forum.

Is your Wii U modded with Aroma CFW, or are you accessing Pretendo with the hackless SSSL DNS method?

hackless, i havent modded my wiiu although i plan to at some point

If you are using SSSL, it sounds like either:

  1. The DNS got reset back to auto-obtain, or
  2. Your ISP is now blocking the DNS redirection (therefore no longer allowing you to connect to Pretendo; this can happen sometimes)

First, check to make sure the DNS did not get removed.

If the DNS for Pretendo is still there, try connecting to a mobile hotspot for a test for your Wi-Fi with the DNS set in your Wii U Internet Settings and see if your (new) password then works.

alright, ill check back in about an hour when i can log in again (since i have too many attempts by now from trying to guess my old password because i couldve sworn i remembered it lol)

I don’t even know if Pretendo has this check? Probably a Nintendo thing.

You should be able to hit “Cancel” to still access System Settings?

no im able to access them! its just logging into my account to access online in games like splatoon, i honestly didnt think itd exist in pretendo myself but what can you do i guess

Yeah, because you’re likely on Nintendo Network (I suspect due to one of the 2 reasons stated above).

If you fix the connection to Pretendo, then you can log on just fine.
