We’re aware of an outage affecting all 3DS and Wii U software. Any error codes you may receive, such as 001-0502 and 101-0502, mean that the Friend Service is down. There is currently no fix other than to wait a while and try again.
We’ve also been informed of an unrelated outage which is causing some users to be unable to modify account settings on Wii U consoles. Attempting to edit settings while using Inkay may result in error 120-1007 or 120-1819. For the time being, you can also use a 3DS console to edit some account settings.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, and we’re currently investigating the causes and addressing the outages!
Would this happen to affect splatoon 1 cause I try to enter a lobby not a friend’s lobby a normal one just to be clear and it gives me an error code of 101-0502 and I have tried all day to enter a lobby and its still gives me the error
It would affect Splatoon. think of friends service as a bridge and the games as cars. If there’s no friends bridge the games can’t reach there destination. Thank Nintendo for that
It seems that the Friend Service on 3DS and Wii U might be operational again. However, it is still very much unstable and as such, we are unable to guarantee that it will stay up for too long.
