Email notifications for forum activity will be enabled for everyone on 2025-10-05T16:00:00Z (That’s in 24 hours since posting).
That means that when someone replies to your post, hacker report or similar, you will receive an email.
You can change your email settings on your account preferences if you prefer not to receive any emails: User menu > Preferences > Emails.

I’m not sure what the defaults are set to, but you can be notified of new topics daily, responses to DMs or other activity. We’ve been doing a small trial of it lately to make sure it works, all emails will come from [email protected].
I don’t really get why this will be enabled. Wouldn’t it clutter people’s emails if they’re inactive and haven’t turned it off?
It allows users, especially those who are appealing a ban or reporting a hacker, to be notified of messages more easily. There’s also an unsubscribe button in the email anyways
