The problem with this, is that it doesn’t work for the majority of users which is why I am not really sure if I should say to people that it’s the fix. If you are able to, can you give details on what led up to you getting the error, what you were doing when you got the error, etc, that would be really helpful in finding out what the error really is

Hi Sarah, sure.
So when I tried to log in using the “NNID Settings”, I would have no issues setting things up until I got to the part where it asks you to confirm you want to use your custom Mii. When I got to that point, it was giving the error and would send me back to the System Settings main menu.
In other words, it asks basically “use your 3ds’ Mii or use the one already on your account?”. I click either option and it asks you to confirm. When I confirm, the error appeared. I was never able to get further until I did the steps I mentioned.
This fixed it for me too. After installing Nimbus from Github I was trying to create a PNID, got the error, then followed the instructions and that fixed it. However, I did install Nimbus from Universal Updater this time.

Yeah, I tried that as well as installing the 3dsx version and it just worked.

I soved thew error for me
I updated Luma to Ver. 13.1.1 and reenabling gamepatching and FIRM loading and then it was fixed for me
Maby the error appears for people who haven’t updated Luma yet?
I tried reinstaling nimbus but the error is not gone. Idk what to do now

I kinda have something to add. I think this error code has to do with pnid/nnid and it might happen when you connect it to the servers. I recently tried to help a friend set up a pretendo account on his Original 3ds XL and at the end he gets this error message. He was running a fresh update of luma3ds to 13.1.1. I dont remember what thread it was but I saw some users on the pretendo forum get around this by changing the system language to spanish then doing the link. He unfortunately doesn’t know Spanish so i cant test if this works unless i guide him though it.

I’m getting the same error when trying to log in on a freshly hacked 3DS XL.
I just installed Nimbus using Universal-Updater (the 3dsx version).
I’ve already associated it with a NNID in the past before formatting my 3DS.
Doing this fixed the issue however.

I feel lost… I got this error on a new freshly hacked and region unlocked new 2ds xl that wasn’t linked to any nnid before, and it just doesn’t work at all. It always comes back to this error after trying to choose the mii. I already uninstalled and installed nimbus, I tried using two different pnids… Is there any other way to fix the issue??
Nevermind! I was able to fix it! I didn’t have to uninstall nimbus and install it again, I just had to witch to nintendo, then switch to pretendo again inmediately and it fixed the issue!

Strange question: If I was to hack my 2DS to be able to access the Pretendo server (I’ve never hacked ANYTHING on my console before!), then would things still be fine? I have SO MUCH important stuff on my 2DS, it’d be a shame if anything got lost or corrupted during the process.

Yes, everything would still be fine. Modding your 3DS wouldn’t affect your games, themes, etc.
