Error code 104-0440 in Splatoon

Today i conected to play a splatoon match and found this error rigth now im not at my home so i dont have my wii u i just want to know what does It mean and how to fix It

Please see this.

Error code is a KNOWN side effect from recent changes to Splatoon 1’s rotations.

Can you please attempt these steps:

  • Restart your Wii U
  • Clear Splatoon 1 shared data

If that doesn’t work, I can ping someone to forward this on (if you can, it’ll be helpful to know whether you’re using SSSL or Inkay (and what version you’re running).

I am getting the same error code. I’ve restarted the console and cleared the shared data, but nothing changes. I’m using the DNS method with 088.198.140.154 and 008.008.008.008 set respectively

Same nothing changes i restarted the console but nothing may be of dns method be cause i did play Mario kart 8 and worked anyways im planning to homebrew my wii u as soon as i get a sd adapter to usb

SD to USB? Just put an SD into the SD card slot, that’s how I installed CFW on my Wii U and homebrew on the vWii and it works perfectly fine.

I’d get a 32GB SD card at least if you want to mod your Wii U.

I’ve tried again with some time in between, deleted shared data and restarted the console. Still 104-0440. Do you have an estimate when the issue will be resolved, or an idea what the cause is?

I am fairly certain the cause is due to Splatoon 1 moving to 2 hour rotations, no clue on when it’ll be resolved, I don’t have active contact with most of the development team (other than pinklimes and Matthew).

Deleting the shared data and using either method (SSSL and Aroma) didn’t do the trick for me, on the WiiU anyway.

Someone recommended to use the Splatoon Enhanced mod which shall drop me directly in the lobby but that didn’t work either.

Playing through Cemu however works for me.

I’m going to pin this post for now in the category since it’s an ongoing issue with the servers currently. Once things change, I’ll unpin it. Also going to adjust your title for now.

From things I’ve read on Discord, it seems to be suspected that this seems to be primarily affecting PAL region copies of Splatoon, emulators don’t seem to have these issues. No updates from developers as far as I know yet.

What i mean IS AN adapter to conect The sd card to my pc so i can mod The console i have one coming day 21 so hopefully i can homebrew my wii u.
