Me and some buddies were attempting to play triforce heroes together, but we couldnt connect to friend lobbies, saying we have no friends online. Attempting the open matchmake option also yielded no results, nobody would connect.
I saw some forum posts that are still open regarding this being something that was under maintinence from last year, is this still the case? Curious if theres a workaround as well. Thanks!
On games.pretendo.zip I saw that The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is “Fully supported except for visiting the community through the game and friend rooms.”
If I remember correctly, Friend Lobbies does not work. You have to do “Far Away” or whatever the global matchmaking is called.
Plus, TFH is currently region-locked. So you all have to be playing on the same region version to be able to matchmake.
Ah okay. We’re all on the north american region, our pretendo accounts are all the same region, same game version (2.1.0) and cant connect through global matchmaking either. We verified NAT types were relaxed for peer to peer connectivity as well. If I had more details I’d be happy to provide but the games fairly vague in what its doing online-wise.
Are you getting any error code?
Nope, no error codes or anything. In the case of joining a friends lobby, I get the expected message that none of my friends are online, but as for the regular matchmaking we will all just remain searching for players for what seems to be indefinitely. We each started searching for players at the same time expecting that to work, and waited 15-20 minutes before giving up for the night. Sorry I don’t have a whole lot to go off of diagnostics-wise
Like an hour or two ago, a separate report led us to some bug in the TFH server. A fix was deployed for that.
Are you able to try connecting to your friends again and see if it works?
Sure! I’ll get us trying again tonight and update the post on what happens.
I went ahead and tried it out and managed to connect to some players, I’ll go ahead and say it works. Thanks guys!
