Does not work on my 3DS, pretendo writes error 001-5002

Almost 2 weeks ago, I was playing mario maker for 3ds, everything was fine, and suddenly 3 days after launch, I stopped working online, whether in friends or in games, if anything, I tried to connect via other wi-fi (I have the Internet support code 120-00), but still not It works

Is it only Super Mario Maker? Or is it anything with Pretendo?

In general, pretendo doesn’t work in friends, it shows that I’m supposedly offline, although the Internet catches everything, and the same error 001-5002 and the same error occurs in any other game in which pretendo supports

not op but i am having the same issue and had it for weeks, nothing i did solved it. still can’t go online anywhere except juxt and SOMETIMES the NNID link page :frowning:

The same problem, for some reason, this error occurs on its own for a couple of weeks, and everything goes on and then over again:(

Can you try this:

  1. Re-install Nimbus from Universal Updater (no need to uninstall, just re-install)
  2. Re-set up the Wi-Fi connection
  3. Run a connection test
  4. If successful, open Friend List and see if there is an error

Do the same steps I listed above:

did everything listed, and before writing my first comment i did a full system re-install because of this same issue, and nothing.
i have a suspicion it’s because of some nonsense with Russian ISPs, been an issue for a while and seen other Russians have it.

Yeah, unfortunately, CloudFlare might still be blocking it because of you being Russian. :frowning:

i think so yeah, i believe these issues started happening a lot ever since cloudflare got bonked here. ig i could try to route the connection via vpn to still access cloudflare services, my brother somehow did that on a router level and always connects from Netherlands on that network. will report back if it actually works, but generally i think russian telecom organisations really messed up pretendo
IF proven to be the case it may be a good idea to make a PSA about it for russian users

No, it doesn’t work, I upgraded to 1.61 anyway, maybe it will go away in a couple of days, I don’t know how in other regions or countries, but in Russia, somehow, the same problem was in the summer of this year, but it was fixed in a few days.

I have confirmation, Pretendo Network works just fine if the router is patched to have a VPN connection, flawlessly even. The moment I connect to a regular network, it goes back to failing to connect. Might be good to pull this over to developers, that Russian users cannot use the services because of Cloudflare issues, but idk if much can be done because Cloudflare is blocked by the govt.

I’m fairly certain developers are well aware that Pretendo does not generally work in Russia

The devs are aware, and it’s not considered a Pretendo issue as it’s because of CloudFlare.
