I would like to mod my 3ds with homebrew, pretendo and any other essential app. But my question is if any data will be lost during the moddig process? I am talking about Mii’s, Messages, Streetpass, Spotpass, Statistics and anything else. I really want homebrew on my 3ds for pretendo, but I need to know if its worth it. Any information helps!!
No, homebrewing your 3DS should keep all of your data intact if you follow the guide correctly.
The guide’s also quite foolproof, so you can’t really brick your 3DS unless you actively try to do so.
Just make sure to follow 3ds.hacks.guide instead of any video guide, as they’re often outdated and won’t work properly.
The only caveat I can possibly think of is when you swap from an NNID to a PNID, you may lose eShop purchases. These are tied to your NNID when using one, but regaining access is pretty easy. My advice would be to dump your games and saves prior to swapping to Pretendo, and then use FBI and Checkpoint to reimport them after moving to Pretendo.
Somebody can also correct me if I’m wrong, and I’m mostly just speaking from experience with console unbanning. My console is/was Nintendo Network banned due to playing leaks, and the bypass that was formulated years ago required the creation of a new NNID. This caused me to “lose” my purchases, but I used alternative means to reinstall them, thus leaving them detached from an NNID.
No i was messed up and lost all my game save data but that was it and even that was cause i did it wrong
