Could you send the Pretendo Blog 📧 through SpotPass Notifications?

I mean the blog you regularly issue on the Pretendo Network website, or on the announcements community.

Is it necessary to sent these kind of SpotPass notifications?

Unsure if you could send an entire blog post (there might be a length limit, not sure) but it would definitely be possible to send notifications for new blog posts there.

(Sidenote - Pretendo has a ton of places for announcements: Twitter, Mastodon, Discord, Tumblr, the forum, the blog, Juxt announcements community, 3DS notifications, probably forgetting something…)

They sent one announcing StreetPass Relay around the early summer…I honestly agree with utilizing the feature more, it makes interaction so much better :wink:

If they are unable to send the entire blog post, they could just use the image for that blog post on the notification, share a few details, and share a link to the full blog post for the full thing.

Sending an entire blog post is likely not possible. There are character limits to notifications. A notification can only be 3,000 UTF16 characters in total (including the trailing null byte, and minus the length of a URL if one is present. Which can be up to 1,024 UTF8 characters), with only 25 characters per line. We also can’t do things like have a bunch of images or videos. But we can add a single image, which could be used for a QR code

Yeah it would be very cool if the notifications app is used for that. I very much like this idea. (Also I haven’t used the wii u long enough to know what spotpass is can someone tell me)

Just had a browse on Pretendo’s GitHub pages (just filed an enhancement request to the website, which I partially caused) and someone’s added it as a feature request to Inkay. Might be worth supporting the feature request.

Could this be used on Wii U as well, in the form of, well, Wii U notifications?

I forgot the Wii U had notifications and honestly, it would be really cool if both Wii U and 3DS recieved notifications about Pretendo.
