Is it allowed to change the main abilities of gear?
Not to gear that’d be impossible to get like stealth jump headgear or four different main exclusive abilities on one piece of gear but something like setting the octoling boots to have ink resistance instead of special saver as it’s main for the sake of being able to have gear I like the look of more.
Couldn’t find anything asking specifically about this so I assume it’s likely allowed especially given it’s a feature in later games but I just wanna be sure.

Can you guys answer this one? You know more about Splatoon than I do.
Just tried to see if it was even possible in the save editor to begin with as the thought occured to me that they could be hard coded/unchangeable thus making the question pointless, and it seems they are not changeable unfortunately.
I suppose then as a different question relating to such if/when the folk mentioned see this: would it be allowed to instead set the sub abilities to be 3 of the same main exclusive ability, such as 3 subs of ink resistance on the octoling boots? This I assume wouldn’t be allowed as it’d technically be an advantage over players who can’t/don’t save edit even if not a significant one.
I don’t know if changing it is possible, but I don’t think this counts as a very unbalanced advantage.
@ImoraPNID @ExpertGem are you able to respond? I would assume the answer is yes but worth double checking
No, changing main abilities is not allowed.
Sub abilities can be changed because anyone can do that themselves in the game.
However, changing main abilities is considered an “unfair” advantage and is therefore bannable.

@vyrval
Thank you for that response! I did edit your post slightly for spacing and emphasis, by the way.

It is possible to edit it via the static.pack. The main abilities are not stored in the save stat.
