Hi there! I have no plans of modding my wii u consoles in the near future at the moment, so i used the sssl method on my console to play splatoon. However, ive also been looking to transfer to another console as of late as well. I doubt id be able to transfer with an ssl method account on my console, so ive been looking to delete the user off of my console (with or without deleting the pnid itself) and the either relink it or make a new one on the next wii u. However, im not sure whether deleting it on console/on website will work/or if it could potentially cause issues with my wii u. I have looked on the master thread on the top of the forum, and while i do acknowlege it does talk about account deletion, i am unsure if what it says applies to sssl users. Can anyone help me on this/give me on guidance on how to proceed? Sorry if its actually simpler than im making it out to be, i just want to make sure i dont accidentally mess up anything with my wii u/pretendo itself, due to the weirdness of the sssl method.
That’s correct, system transfers aren’t currently supported on Pretendo and there’s unfortunately no other way to copy your save data without homebrew.
I think this is a bit simpler than you’re thinking - we do actually allow a single PNID to be linked to multiple consoles, so there’s no need to delete the PNID from your first console if you don’t want to. That being said, it is completely safe to delete an account on your console while using SSSL, whether you choose to delete the PNID as well or not.
Thanks for the help! Before I go forward, do i have to have my dns changed to the pretendo-specific one before going forward with deletion, or can i just use auto obtain?
If you are deleting your PNID, yes, you should use the Pretendo DNS server.
This isn’t really any danger here, by the way. If you attempt to delete the account without being connected to Pretendo, you’ll just get an error because account deletion requires logging in first, and it’s impossible to log into a PNID while connected to Nintendo. So you’d have to switch to the Pretendo DNS server anyway for it to work.
Officially resolved and deleted, thank you!
