This game was so insanely good when it came out, it was so immersive that you had to plug your gamepad in because you were going to be up all night until the sun came up the next day. I’d love to see it back in miiverse communities and online leaderboards. Will it be revived? I only ask because it’s a ubisoft game, or will it be indefinitely suspended like BO2 and Ghosts?
There are no ETAs for games.
All games that used Nintendo Network (and NEX servers) are planned to be supported.
If Zombi U used NEX, then it should be supported. But I don’t know what kind of servers the game used.

Ubisoft games range to Assassin’s Creed AND Watch Dogs as well. I don’t think they’ll be coming back, since they also used 3rd party servers.

It shows the statues of most games currently online and being worked on, if you scroll past the Wii U section there is an “Unsupported indefinitely section” all these ubisoft games are still not on that list. Maybe there’s still a chance of them being revived?
It’s probably that with a lot of these games, the wiki editor(s) just don’t know what kind of servers those other games used. Anyone can contribute to the wiki.
But the idea is if it used only Nintendo Network (NEX) it will be supported at some point.
But if a game used 3rd party servers, it might be possible depending on the game itself.
But those would have to be assessed on a game-by-game basis. And only developers would know what would be doable (or have the resources to find out).

Literally no one knows when any game will be supported. No one except Jon himself is getting paid for working on Pretendo, so most of the people are essentially doing the revivals for fun.
And even though every game using the NEX system is planned to be supported eventually (unless there are some copyright issues with it), it’s very likely that games that aren’t first party are put on the backburner and won’t be done in the near future – if I am to be realistic, I would expect a revival for it to be done about 2030.
Games are worked on when a dev wants to work on them. There isn’t really a “backburner”.
Probably not going to be supported, used uPlay servers, the servers for ZombiU were shut down in 2022 and the rest of the servers for the wii U were shut down in April 8th of 2024 following the Nintendo Network Shutdown
