Street pass/street relay used to work and now it doesn’t

streetpassing my friends on my 3DS through pretendo used to work fine but just recently it stopped working. When a friend is online, i’ll put it in sleep mode and nothing. i’ve even put my other 3ds next to it - which used to street pass fine - and nada (tho that one did do that annoying battery thing which resets the clock and i’ve read that can affect it.)

i downloaded netpass to see if that would work and weirdly enough it does. perfectly. it’s only streetpassing my friend list and potentially in person that seems to be bugging.

i updated nimbus through universal updater but that didn’t seem to work either.

i’ve seen some similar topics to this, so sorry if im repeating someone, but theirs all seemed to be regarding netpass and/or the streetpass function never working.

i’d love some advice

With NetPass downloaded (and patches applied), you need to turn on Pretendo Integration in NetPass to use Pretendo SPR as well.

First, make sure NetPass is on 1.0.1 right now (not 1.0.0 as it has a few bugs):

  1. open Universal Updater
  2. redownload the latest NetPass

then turn on Pretendo Integration:

  1. Open Netpass
  2. Settings
  3. Integrastions
  4. set Pretendo to ON
  5. reboot system

you should start receiving Pretendo SPR passes within a few hours (depending on the number of friends and shared games)

okie i’ll give that a go, but this started happening before i downloaded netpass.

Still, if this works, then that will be good. If not, I do have some other ideas. But let’s see what happens first.

I must gave glossed over it - but if local-to-local SP isn’t working properly, that’s kind of worrying. :confounded:

haha yeah i always manage to have an odd problem but hey, at least i’m never boring :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah i unfortunately already have :sob:

but i’ll go through it again! and honestly, there’s a high chance my other 3ds is faulty. i’ll try and meet up with some mates and have me test it with theirs soon if i can. fingers crossed it’s fine!!

Btw in case you’re wondering how I know so much about NP, I was having a lot of issues with NetPass with the 1.0.0 release, and Soru (lead NetPass developer) worked it all out with me and also added things in 1.0.1 to make it all work better

Thanks so much!! I actually didn’t notice it wasn’t working. I wasn’t getting any pretendo spot passes and now I am. What a great and simple guide.

Edit: I ment to reply to the netpass guide about removing the patch ect.

i have no idea why my spr wasn’t working before i downloaded netpass, but if it’s working okay now then hey, no harm no foul!! thank you so much for working with me :))

still don’t know about local stresspass but we shall seeeee

I just want to clarify - are you getting Netpass SPR passes, Pretendo SPR passes, or both?
