Is there a way to stop my Wii U from asking me to login to Pretendo (or Nintendo’s network)? Just want to use it offline, but keep getting the login request, then some weird “console banned” error.

There’s a Wii U account swap homebrew that can unlink a PNID from an account on your Wii U. That will stop any login prompts.
I suggest you to look if your pnid is your principal account to boot into if It IS you can unable It and now if you want to play online use The pretendo account and if not use The Nintendo one also you can consider @MatthewL246_PNID’s reply
Unlinked the account using the Wii U Account swap app, still does the exact same thing.
Huh, I didn’t expect that. Not sure what to do in this case then, sorry.
