I plan to have both one day but to start, should I buy a wii u or 3ds?

buy a new 2ds xl, easy to mod and also looks cool, if you get a wii u you get a black console thats a bit hard to mod but still i reccomend a wii u

I’d definitely go with the 3DS first just because of all of the things you can do with it, game variety, and it’s super easy to mod. Also, it’s portable!

I recommend against getting a New 2DS XL as apparently, the build quality makes them extremely fragile compared to the other models, and the internals are known to fail prematurely.
As for Wii U, it really doesn’t matter whether it’s a Basic (white) or Deluxe (black) unit, as it can be expanded with USB or SD storage (SDUSB required).
And no, the Wii U, at least nowadays, is exceptionally easy to mod. Even the modern method of region swapping really isn’t difficult as long as you follow the steps closely.

Personally, it all comes down to 2 things:
- Do you like consoles or handhelds more?
- Which platform has the games you want to play more?
Then make your decision from there.

I would get a wii u if I were you, since it has several great games, and can play wii games.
But it all depends on your tastes, you should look at what games those consoles have, and see what games you’d be interested in getting. And it depends on if you like home or handheld consoles more.
Yes a 3ds is portable has great games and the streetpass integration is just very very cool.

I probably will be traveling a lot over the summer, but I think the Wii U had better games, I may be wrong about the games. I know the 3ds has like a better version of Yoshi’s Wolly World, and games like ACNL (Animal Crossing New Leaf), also unpopular opinion but Mario Maker 3DS was amazing.

Another consideration is the price. an o2DS usually can be found for cheap, but every other 3ds can be very expensive.
Wii U’s with a Gamepad are generally around 120 bucks flat.
do some research on the games you might want first before deciding!

I think 3ds would be my pick game variety you can use it anywhere but the wii u has ALOT of hidden gems i would say it depends do you have some family you would like to play with?. do you have a wii?. None is required for the wii u but if you do that makes it way more fun. The 3ds is able to do some of the same stuff but if you want to play anywhere alot of games 3ds. Ifyou want to play with family and have a wii also i would say wii u. Tldr:wii u is better for playing with family unless you are sitting in 3ds’s. 3ds is good for on the go games (btw not needed but i would suggest you get a non sketchy 3ds 2x battery it does what you might be thinking holds more power for longer life)

I’ll look into the New 2DS XL or New 3DS XL probably.
Do NOT get a New 2DS XL specifically. it can literally just die due to hardware failure, a separate issue from - but still comparable to - a Hynix NAND in some Wii Us.

I hesitated on a WiiU since I don’t really know what I’d play on it (I already have a Wii), but I recently got a New3DS and I’d say it was a great pick! so, in any case, my opinion would lean into the N3DS. Maybe in the future I’ll pick a WiiU? I still got no clue what I’d exactly play on it though…
