Please help! Something is definitely wrong with my WII U!

I’ve somehow managed to install Aroma as well as Pretendo Network on my Wii U yesterday. Today, I turn it on by inserting a Wii game and for some reason, it was asking me to enter the password for the Nintendo Network. I canceled it and switched the user that is linked to the Pretendo Network. After entering the password and saved it, it asked me to pair the Wii remote and that’s exactly what I did! I simply followed the instruction on the Wii U pad because the TV is not showing anything for some reason… Please help! Thank you!

The first thing you can do is goto settings and make sure that the tv resolution is set to automatic and also HDMI. If that doesn’t work then I am sure that a Mod can help or they may suggest asking the homebrew community in discord.

It is weird that this is happing all of a sudden. My Wii U wasn’t showing anything one time and my HDMI cable had gone bad.

If you play a Wii game with the Gamepad as a senor bar, the system ONLY SHOWS THE GAME ON GAMEPAD by default.

Blame Nintendo.

If you want to use the GamePad as a sensor bar, there is a homebrew plugin on the Homebrew App Store that allows this and can allow you to see it on the screen as one would normally expect.

It has got worse! It turns on and that’s about it. The Wii U pad is telling me that it’s unable to connect with the console because it’s out of range which is absurd! What the hell? What’s wrong with my Wii U? Is it possibly bricked or something?

did you NAND dump? it MIGHT be bricked, but ive never seen this happen.

You mean “NAND back up”, right? Then, yes I did back it up BEFORE doing anything else… I simply followed one of youtubers’ guide and it seemed work just fine. After installing Aroma and the network, I tried to install one of cIOS but failed. Then, I turned it off. Then, I turned it back on again yesterday by inserting one of Wii games I was going to play and BOOM! The rest is history…

is it funkyscott47s tutorial? if yes, you are fine, but the wii cIOS means if you do one of the slots wrong, your Vwii might end up in a perm brick if you dont have Priiloader

Is your Wii U side of things fine at least? If so, it is possible to repair your vWii. So just don’t panic.

However, at this point, this is beyond advice we can give. Also, NEVER FOLLOW VIDOE GUIDES :sob:

Hello. I somehow managed to unbrick my Wii U using the UDPIH: USB Host Stack exploit + Recovery Menu However, I have a new problem. I am NOT able to log on to the Pretendo Network. I know I was able to log on just a few days ago and was able to change my birthdate, etc. but now I cannot log on. Should I delete my original Nintendo Network ID or just leave it alone?

Do NOT delete your NNID.

You’re modded, are you sure Inkay is turned on?

I am having some serious problem! I am NOT able to access the vWii at all! All I did was installing several Aroma-plugins and other apps from Homebrew App Store! Is there any way to start it over from the very beginning? Thank you for all your help!

There’s a chance that running a system update whilst connected to Nintendo Network (make sure to enable updates too) might resolve that issue.

If it doesn’t however, this isn’t something that we can help with here. Please ask for support from Nintendo Homebrew.

Believe it or not, a corrupted aroma installation/plugin can cause this.

To troubleshoot:

  1. Make sure Wii U is off
  2. take out SD card
  3. turn on Wii U (without SD card, this should boot into stock firmware)
  4. launch vWii

If it works, then you know there is NOTHING wrong with your system.

It seems like I messed it up this time. I was really hoping that was the case but no that didn’t work, either…

Like I said, don’t panic. Please ask Nintendo Homebrew for help. a vWii is very recoverable.
