I am in Super Mario support tier and got my FCs whitelisted to try out the beta servers. However for the life of me I am unable to do wonder trades in ORAS. I own two consoles (both whitelisted) trying to wonder trade at the same time and yet they can’t find each other ever. I always keep getting the timed out message saying “couldn’t find any partner” on both 3dses. I raised this question in discord as well but it kept getting buried and no one was able to help regarding it. This has been happening for at least 5 days.
Ok, from what I have heard, I believe, that if you did not connect to the Nintendo Network to do trades before the shutdown, performing, (or at least attempting) trades will not work on Pretendo with a new save file.
I did in fact connect my games to Nintendo servers before they shut down. These save files are really old. It is also evident by the fact that both save files have a unique Game Sync ID on them as well. My issue is that I am able to “connect” to the internet in Pretendo and navigate to wonder trade screen, it just isn’t able to “find a partner” for me to trade with even though I have two 3dses running side by side.
I read a little further into this issue. It appears that it is very unstable. A few people mentioned that wonder trade takes a very very long time to actually connect. It takes many tries. The server is still under development so I think that it is just a waiting game until the server is developed and tested more.
If you are using seperate save data for each game from when the Nintendo network server was around then you should be fine.
I really doubt it’s just that. Someone on discord also said it’s weird that I wasn’t able to connect even once across the week. I think there might be some backend issue happening as I haven’t really seen anyone else trying and succeeding ever since I started doing mine.
