Hello, I got a doubt, the old miiverse used NEX library or is another thing and juxt uses NEX too or no?
I don’t understand how it works in the background, but Juxt works.
What “doubt” do you have?
sorry i didnt clarify maybe, I mean like nintendo wii u and 3ds servers used NEX, if miiverse like jused online functions used nex too
I don’t think Miiverse uses NEX; as NEX is based off of something Ubisoft made for matchmaking in online games (a gross simplification, but it suffices.
Miiverse didn’t use matchmaking as it’s not a game. It uses an API with a web interface (literally, the 3DS Miiverse applet is just a web browser!).
thanks! i understand it, so nex only was used for game servers and miiverse used other stuff, and btw what it means the word olv in miiverse? ive seen it many times in urls domains but idk what it means
from my understanding, “olv” is short for “olive” but I don’t know what it means beyond that.
maybe cause miiverse applet is green like olives? well thx anyways for the info about nex
OLV, or olv.nintendo.net, was the fetch portal for the Miiverse API from 2012-2017. Miiverse could not and did not implement NEX, as Quazal/NEX are libraries, not API’s. Though I am unsure to why it is named “Olive”, I know it’s purpose.
