Logging in to PNID used on another 3DS previously?

Hey there. Good day.
I will go straight to the point: I transitioned from an Old 3DS to a New 3DS model; I was logged to Pretendo on the former.

Here’s where the issue arises: I have been told that force-removing your PNID through GodMode9 does unlink your PNID client-side, but not from server-side. Now, I haven’t tried this myself, but I don’t want to waste any time.

I have also been told that the server moderators might help me link my PNID to the other 3DS, as linking a PNID to two consoles at the same time is not possible. I do not have access to the Old 3DS anymore, so any help is appreciated.

Currently it is possible but it might change in the future as there’s currently a feature request on Pretendo’s GitHub to change how PNIDs behave (being able to only link to one 3DS and one Wii U console and forcing you to link it on 3DS).

Based on the information I got (thanks @piplupness: Discord), you need to contact @PN_Jon. I’ll forward this onto him so he can unlink it server-side for you.

We don’t currently do any console linking on the server side. The data is sent to us but we ignore it, since currently it’s intentional that you can be linked to multiple consoles.

However as @GamersInternatio said this is going to change. See [Enhancement]: Enforce PNID links and only allow each PNID to be tied to one of each console (like on NN) · Issue #101 · PretendoNetwork/account · GitHub for details.

From the GitHub issue:

my plan was to add a button on the users settings page on the website that would allow them to forcibly disconnect their PNID from either device. So they can simply force the disconnect via the website and then be on their happy way on their other device.

So once this restriction is added, even if your original console is no longer in your possession you can unlink it yourself to free it up for your new one.

So with this change still unimplemented, can I just unlink my PNID with GodMode9?
