Issue with password reset?

So, I made a ridiculous password that I didn’t feel like typing out on my 3DS - and I wanted to change it. I sent out the verification email and everything; however, using the temporary code did not work, and verifying my email wouldn’t either - as it took me to a page that said:
“Web email validation is currently unavailable due to high traffic. Please try again later.
Verifying via the code sent to your email on a 3DS or Wii U is still possible.”
I also tried the “forgot your password” button on the website, and I got sent to this page after typing in a new password:

After I got sent to that page, I was confused so I just typed in the new password on my 3DS, and it still didn’t log me in. Am I missing something?

I don’t know if deleting my account would help, since the “sign in” screen on my 3DS is set to my “CoolD07” account (same issue with my “CoolD_07” account), But I don’t want these names to be unavailable. Can I get some help with this?

I don’t think you need your email verified to reset your password.

Never mind, apparently it’s a known issue? Hopefully it should be resolved soon, sorry for the inconvenience.
