How to setup a reverse proxy for pretendo?

Hi, I’m in China at this moment, and it seems that my ISP blocked Pretendo’s domain(*.pretendo.cc), even the connection test can’t be done if I switched to Pretendo server in nimbus. So I wonder that if it’s possible to setup a reverse proxy for Pretendo?

Have you tried a accessing it through a vpn service? A router with vpn firmware could fix this problem. That is how a friend of mine is able to access blocked internet in China, but I am not sure what the legality is for that.

Thanks for reply! That’s a good idea, but I don’t have a router that can install a vpn plugin easily
My idea is to setup a reverse proxy in a server or my computer, and I just change the proxy server in 3DS and that should work (when using pretendo service), or if it’s possible to edit the nimbus’ source code, so that it can connect to my reverse proxy server without any proxy settings?

That is a very good question! I know how to change a DNS server but I don’t know about source codes. I bet a forum tech savvy person like @Joshua8600PNID or @ArtU26
might know?

Hello!

Pretendo operates on Cloudflare, one of the largest online distribution services. Due to internet based regulations, the Cloudflare operative, that being 1.1.1.1 is completely blocked by a DDoS wall, which acts as an ISP return function similarly.

Pretendo functions at the point "AS41061" ELE Pointer, (in a float preset!). These floater locations may be inoperable in China, due to the great internet wall that exists there. When a request or pull is allowed at "value 1a", the actual DNS setting simply returns: "::null". Now! This could hypothetically be bypassed, but it is one: not safe AT ALL, and two practically impossible.

A VPN could not really do anything unfortunately… creating/setting up a reverse proxy is impractical with these restrictions, just a standard output Charles proxy couldn’t function under these restrictions.

Overall, when on “init0”, all nodes will time out instantly, hence returning a strong null factor. The IP can’t truly be resolved to an application, title or name.

I hope this helps.

Hi! Thank you for providing such detailed information!

So I did some research,

That’s correct! I found that “pretendo .network” were used in website, and “pretendo.cc” were used in games i think? Both of them are in Cloudflare. However, pretendo .network can be access normally (like the forum), but “conntest.pretendo.cc” and other domain ends with pretendo.cc, they didn’t, when I open a browser and type conntest.pretendo.cc, it says that the connection has been reset.

So yea, there is a “Wall”, and this is probably an SNI ban for “pretendo.cc”. China didn’t ban the entire Cloudflare IP addresses, because many websites were hosted in Cloudflare, but the “Wall” will check the SNI, if the domain are on the “Ban List”, it send RST to client and server to terminate the connection.

Well, actually, the VPN worked! I tested on my phone, turning on VPN and conntest.pretendo.cc can be accessed normally. But the problem is, making VPN usable in 3DS is not easy, and I don’t know if the proxy settings in 3DS can be used in game service.

So if there’s a server outside China, it haven’t been banned by wall, and it can access pretendo, setup a reverse proxy on this server may be a solution.

That’s roughly how I understand it. Of course, there might be easier solutions. My English isn’t very good, so please let me know if there’s anything wrong!

Aha! So this diagram displays how an address split at multiple init points could operate. It seems if your “DO” point controls a rest operative, the origin is collapsed, leading to a control stack which could, in theory bypass the wall in China.

Your VPN must operate on this frame, as it can control multiple address lines in multiple connection instances, at all floats, regardless of the package address and/or size.

If we were to consider this, an NNT or cypher system could be used to completely bypass all blocks that you may be experiencing! A VULNERABILITY… If your Wii U returns an adress at *080, it will form a GTT package, which in theory could output as a bypassed adress!

THIS IS WHY OLD CONSOLES ARE THE BEST!
(and vpns)

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for your help!

Honestly, this is a bit over my head right now, haha. I’m thinking I might explore how to actually do it later on. But really, thanks a ton for always helping me out!

I am not tech-savvy in any way lmao.

But you have the answers for pretty much everything I asked so far :sparkles::v:

I know how a Wii U works, and a 3DS (for the most part), But idk how tech itself works lol

Me too :desktop_computer: I knew a few programming commands but other than that I forgot most of it. Basic was a lot of fun back in the day.

No problem! If you do have any more tech related questions, feel free to ping me and I’ll be more than willing to help!
