How to change to NNID

I don´t have an NNID Backup, but i also can´t change to the NNID Manually because:
1.: I obviously can´t login in the Pretendo Network with my NNID and
2.: With Inkay turned off I can´t change my ID as for that i need the Password for my current Pretendo Network account which isn´t a valid Nintendo Network Account, so i can´t enter a valid password and switch to my valid Nintendo Network account.
Thanks in advance for any help.

In order to re-enable the Inkay plugin, press L + Down + Minus on the gamepad. This will bring up the plugins menu, from there you can turn on the plugins you need without issues. Select inkay in the menu, then set “Connect to Pretendo Network” from false to true. And there you have it! You’ve got Pretendo enabled. Now you should be able to sign into Pretendo on your Wii U. If you’re on 3DS, open Nimbus. If it mentions to enable game patching and enabling external FIRMS and modules, open the luma3ds menu by powering down your 3ds, then turn it back on while holding start. then enable the two settings, then press save and exit. Then open Nimbus and select pretendo. You will go back to the home menu and you’ll be able to set up your PNID in the settings. Congratulations! Now your PNID will be linked to your console and your ability to use Miiverse and play certain games has been restored!

I’m sorry for the missunderstanding. I meant that I can’t Change Back to the Nintendo Network.
Thanks anyway.

It’s now almost 2 months since i originally asked this question and i’ve tried everything but still I found no way to do it, I’ve had no answer which has given me a way to do it and now I’m asking myself if
1: I missed something in the menus or
2: That is just that way for now that you can’t change to the NNID because of development issues in that department or something else

Sorry for missing this post.

Can you disable Inkay and then tap the back button in the bottom right corner of the GamePad when the password entry screen shows up? Then, you should be able to switch to your NNID account.

Unfortunately, no. I can’t enter the Password for my NNID because OS91hmbrwID isn’t my NNID, and i can’t change my NNID without entering my Password.

I’m confused about what the issue is here. You should have multiple user accounts on your Wii U, right? One should be linked to your NNID, and one should be linked to your PNID.

You should be able to choose which one to log into when you turn on the console. Even if one of them is set as the default account, in my experience, you can just cancel out of the password entry screen and swap to a different account.

Oh. I’m sorry I got it wrong. I only have one account on the Wii U.
Thanks for info.

Yeah, the officially recommended way is to make a new account for your PNID and transfer your save data to it. I’m assuming you probably followed an unofficial guide that told you to unlink your NNID from your primary Wii U account and then create a PNID with it? This is why we don’t recommend that - it makes it much more difficult to use your NNID again.

You might be able to disable Inkay, create a new account on your Wii U, and then sign in to your NNID on that account. I can’t guarantee that this works though since I haven’t tested it.

Yes, that works. But do you know How to make a NNID Backup for the now PNID Account(Wii U Account Swap)? It would really be nice to have 1 Wii U Account for both NNID and PNID.

Don’t get me wrong, Wii U Account Swap is a useful homebrew program and I do use it myself. However, I can only recommend it for advanced users because, as you’ve noticed, it is possible to accidentally lose your account data if you use it wrong. If you unlinked your NNID before backing up the account.dat, your NNID data is lost now, unfortunately.

Check the usage section of the readme on GitHub for detailed instructions on using it. There is a specific order you need to follow to ensure all your account data is stored safely: backup NNID => unlink NNID => sign in to PNID => backup PNID. Then, after that initial setup, you can use it to swap online accounts.

In your specific situation, it might be possible to backup your PNID => unlink the PNID => disable Inkay => sign in with your NNID => back up your NNID. I’m not certain whether this will work but it’s worth a try.

NO WAY! It actually worked! After 2 months without one account for NNID and PNID it’s kind of crazy to just press a button and change to the other Network ID.
Thanks.
