Out of nowhere, Luma3DS got an update, but I’ve heard that it can mess with pretendo.
If I do what i write below in that specific order, will I be fine?
1: Use Nimbus to switch to Nintendo Network
2: Check the friend list to see if i switched properly (although the badges on my menu dissapearing is another way)
3: Open Universal Updater
4: Download Luma3DS
5: Close Universal Updater
6: Power off the 3DS
7: Turn it on while holding SELECT
8: Re-enable everything that I had enabled before (including game patching)
9: Close Luma3DS configuration thing and use Nimbus to switch to pretendo

I haven’t heard of any issues with using Pretendo whilst updating, but I would probably make sure you’re on Nintendo Network whilst updating (don’t quote me on this but I got 022-5432 after my SD card must have rejected itself whilst changing settings, and you might reduce the risk of that happening being in your Nintendo profile) and reverting back afterwards.
I don’t think it’s necessary to switch to Nintendo Network before updating, but it certainly wouldn’t be harmful. This sounds like a good order of steps to me. Ensuring that game patching is on after updating is the most important step here.
For those who do have issues, this often helps fix things:
