How do I remove a PNID from my 3DS?

So my 3DS can boot now and everything is back to normal, but the old PNID (Ondrashek) is still there. I can’t sign in to delete it as it already is deleted, so how do I remove the link from the 3DS?

You might be able to use GM9’s megascript to do this. Boot into GM9, browse to your SD, and then to the scripts directory under “gm9”. After launching the script, you’ll be taken to a new menu, and the option to remove the NNID is under “Scripts from Plailect’s Guide”. Not sure if this will work with a PNID, but I assume so since Nimbus sets it up in a test slot for NNIDs, and marks that slot as active.

I did use that thingy, it made my 3DS not boot and I needed to recover a NAND backup to restore Pretendo functionality.

I believe this will remove both your NNID and PNID, so be aware of that.

I was dumb and tried following a NNID removal guide that utilized a GM9 script to remove the NNID so I could re-login, but now my 3DS crashes upon boot. Its a “data abort” error. Have I bricked my 3ds? Thanks.

Ah, my mistake then. Yeah, I kinda had a feeling it may need to be adapted to Pretendo. It’s the only thing that really comes to mind, though, save for a factory reset. It’s safe to do this when B9S is installed, but that just creates a whole bunch of work for something so small. Maybe Nimbus can some day have this functionality? It would make sense for it to.

Just bumping this, is there a solution save for backing up everything and then factory resetting?

If you run the removal script and then run clean OFW to relink your NNID and make act not error, Nimbus breaks completely and won’t switch to Pretendo at all unless you restore a NAND backup which contains your PNID and go back to where you started.

Sorry for not linking this earlier, I had forgotten that there was a safe way to unlink the PNID.

I think I’ve found it. Could you open up Luma3DS settings and make sure that Enable loading external firms and modules and Enable game patching is disabled?

Once your 3DS has booted up, power it off again and re-enable those settings and the PNID should be unlinked (you should be able to tell if you see 022-5432 when opening up something like Miiverse).

Then, follow our usual troubleshooting tips for 022-5432:

1. Open Nimbus
2. Switch to Nintendo servers
3. Open eShop (if user has an NNID)
4. Exit eShop (if user has an NNID)
5. Open Nimbus
6. Switch to Pretendo servers

Once you’re back on Pretendo servers, you should get 015-5015 and that confirms your PNID is definitely unlinked. You can then link a new one in settings.

I was so excited for this to work… But after I did all the steps exactly as described, Miiverse on Pretendo asked me to log in to my NNID instead and threw 022-5432 again after inserting the password…

I normally logged in to the eShop and everything.

EDIT: I re-did the steps and it works now!
