How do i confirm that Streetpass Relay works?

I didnt get the notification about it yet and i havent got any streetpasses from people in my friends list so far.
My friend told me that removing and reinserting the battery fixes the problem but i dont think it did.

Have someone that uses pretendo as a friend and put your 3ds on sleep Mode that should do It if not put both 3ds on sleep mode
