I don’t have any SD cards, so I can’t use the main method to emulate Splatoon. I’m instead trying to just change the DNS to what the instructions say to do(for the easier option where you just link an account etc) I’ve created a pretendo account and a PNID, and I’ve tried to link it to my Wii U, (after I changed my DNS) but each time I get the same error code of 102-2613. I saw someone else on this forum have the same issue, and they were told to connect to a hotspot. I tried that too, but when I went to link my account, the console said I wasn’t connected to the internet. My phone kept connecting and disconnecting from the Wii U. At this point, I’ve made an entirely new email that I used to make the Pretendo account I’m using right now. I, again, tried to link it, but I was met with the same error code. Then I tried to simply create a new Nintendo ID on the Wii U console, that I would link to the new user. I entered in the exact same information that’s on my newest Pretendo account. This time I got no error code, but when I booted up Splatoon I wasn’t connected to any online servers. Is there something I’m still doing wrong? I desperately want to play og Splatoon again because it’s been years, and I’ve tried following all the instructions online for the sssl method, but nothing is working.
Can confirm on the backend that your PNID ( RuthlessCalamity) does not have a console linked.
It kinda sounds like your system is still talking to Nintendo Network and you made an account with them? I know some ISPs do not allow the SSSL DNS trick to work.
Hotspot is good advice, but the Wii U will keep connecting and disconnecting to “save power” or whatever; so maybe you need to force the phone to keep the hotspot open (on iPhones, you can keep the screen unlocked to the Personal Hotspot page in Settings) so the console can reconnect.
I’m trying to do the hotspot method now, but after preforming the connection test my phone will show that the hotspot is no longer connected, even if my phone is constantly open. It’ll stay momentarily connected during the test, but not afterwards.
Ok I got connected to a hotspot via my laptop, and because I’m stupid I deleted the account and ID I had on my Wii U, so I ended up making another account. I got all the information in, and I got an error code saying I wasn’t connected to the internet or the network was busy. It didn’t give me the error code I was getting earlier, so I think I’m off to a good start. Gonna keep at it for now.
Not sure if it’s an issue with my hotspot but, it’s still not wanting to work. I have the band set to 2.4 GHz and my laptop shows that the Wii U is connected. However, entering the information to link my account got me met with an error code saying I wasn’t connected to the internet. When I tried again, and reentered in the information, I got the 102-2613 code. I don’t know if I did anything correctly, because the wait time after inputting the info was longer than usual. But any attempts made right now just gets the 102-2613 error code.
Tried switching to my mobile hotspot and got the same code.
I’ve put so many replies on here , but I’m going to bite the bullet and attempt the Homebrew method hopefully sometime tomorrow or later on.
Modding a Wii U is very safe, and easy. Just make sure to only use this official guide.
